there were several chains that kept me bound,
a dirty old rag to muffle the sound.
all those chains inflicted pain,
they tore when i pulled, my efforts in vain.
i could see my blood, where it stained the floor,
the iron tinted smell, even worse than before.
intoxicating me, i can't even see,
limping across the floor, so far from free.
the first chain is the lies you speak,
the next is the happiness i used to seek.
the third is the insanity that fills my mind,
the fourth is what reminds me i was left behind.
and the last resides around my throat,
choking back the words i try to promote.
but since your words were all a lie,
to the first chain, i can say goodbye.
and since happiness is something i haven't found,
the second chain can be unwound.
since they're gone, i have found humanity,
so goodbye for now, chain insanity.
and since i no longer care that i was left behind,
the fourth wretched chain can now unwind.
but there's still the chain that chokes my speech,
the final lesson that i will teach.
the time i've been here has made me strong,
so i'm just about ready to move along.
and these words are getting harder to contain,
so now, i break the one last chain.
